Cast Painting

This is a cast painting that I worked on last year at Kamille Corry's studio. I feel like I learned a lot about oil painting and how to finish a painting over a long period of time. Most of my oil paintings have just been studies done in one sitting.

I also gained an appreciation of ancient Greek sculptors. It was pretty tedious painting just this guy's head. I can't imagine how long it would have taken them to sculpt the whole thing.

  7. They thought it was taking too long to sculpt as well...which is why they left the hands and arms off.

    Your painting is amazing.

  8. Wow, Dave. Just looking at this again for like the tenth time, and marveling at the attention to lighting and color.
