Three Dog Knight

This is an illustration I did a few years back for Dragon Magazine. I actually did quite a few illustrations for them, but as I look back at them, I don't know, I guess I am just not a fan of the subject matter. Sometimes the fantasy genre just gets a little ridiculous. Fantasy football on the other hand... Anyway, I like this guy. He looks like he could play safety for the Raiders.

  1. This is an incredible painting... and if he was allowed to wear "pads" like that, I'm guessing there would be a lot of dead receivers after Raiders games. How many fantasy points is "death caused by safety" worth for your defense? Somewhere between a fumble recovery and a sack, probably.

  8. I love the color scheme, the muted background is really pleasing. Nice armor too, it looks used, and heavy, his face has a tired well traveled look too, it's a great piece. Bravo!

  14. This is amazing. I am starting to get blown away by artists at avalanche. I went to Utah State and got a degree in Illustration but we didn't really have much of a program by the time I got there so I'm greatful that I can be around people down here that can do the type of work you do. Thanks for the inspiration
